We are excited to share a very limited number of hand cast Jenev Bird Candleholders that Jerry Ackerman produced shortly after his 99th birthday in 2019. A portion of the proceeds will be used towards an endowed art scholarship in Evelyn and Jerry’s names at Wayne State University and an endowed internship in Jerry’s name at the Alfred University.
Using the original molds he created in 1953 for the Ackermans’ first venture, Jenev Design Studio, Jerry slip cast porcelain and fired with a matte black glaze. Handmade, each pair has subtle variations and are inscribed on the bottom with “Ackerman” and “Jenev.” Each bird measures approximately 6″ x 4″. A card is included as proof of authenticity.
