ERA imported recessed plastic pulls designed by Count Sigvard Bernadotte and made in Denmark in the late 1950s. They became a favorite of architects, designers, and boat manufacturers. About the same time, Jerome decided to add a new and different kind of hardware to the ERA line to fill a void in the hardware available to designers, architects, and cabinet makers.

The result was his design for the “Antico” group of hand-cast solid brass knobs and pulls in verde and other finishes produced in Italy. Many were inlaid with a variety of materials. Some were included in “California Design IX.” Large-scale inlaid brass door pulls, hand cast in limited production runs in Italy, were for achitectural applications.
